I’m Elvis Quintana, a hair colorist and educator based in Chicago’s River North. I love the technical side of color, but what keeps me interested is how personal it is. The same shade can feel completely different on two people. Finding your version is my job.

I built my foundation in Evanston, beginning as an apprentice and growing into roles as a master colorist, educator, and color director. Behind the chair, I developed my eye; teaching other stylists pushed me to understand and explain the reasoning behind every formula and placement.

That’s how I approach your hair. I want to know what you’re drawn to, what you’ve tried, and what never quite felt right. A reference photo starts the conversation, but your hair history, personal style, and everyday routine help determine where we take it.

My work spans rich brunettes, dimensional blondes, reds, gray blending, and bigger color changes. Sometimes the most effective change is subtle: a different tone, a brighter piece, depth where it was missing. Other times, you’re ready for something entirely new. I enjoy both.

You can expect an honest opinion from me, a clear explanation of the process, and room to say what you actually think. You don’t need to know the right terminology or have it all figured out before you sit down.
